FIRE HEALING CIRCLE

  • Ouchie | acupuncture + Asian medicine 187 El Dorado Street Monterey, CA, 93940 United States (map)

We begin the New Year with much excitement and vigor to start fresh, to invite change, and with intentions of following through. But, the truth is, that we are in the height of WINTER and we can quickly lose excitement because we either get sick, we don’t have enough fire to keep going, or we get distracted by life’s demands.

Join Melissa and Dr. Stephanie for this special gathering, where we will explore ways to ignite the Fire of our well-being, and to inspire health to move us into spring.

Melissa will guide us through a self-care reiki ritual to ignite our fire of intention.

Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that uses touch or non-touch techniques to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The word "Reiki" can be translated as "universal life force energy," and the practice is based on the idea that this energy flows through all living things and can be used to promote healing and balance.

Dr. Stephanie will guide you through a self-care Moxibustion ritual to ignite our fire of vitality.

It is used in TCM as a warming therapy which consists of burning dried mugwort. Moxibustion, also called moxa, can even used on acupuncture points to enhance their function. The leaves of mugwort are dried and then they are processed to be very fibrous, soft texture. Moxa is used in a variety of application and uses, but for this gathering we will focus on warming the Kidney Yang.

And together, we will make Fire Cider, for your at home ritual to ignite our fire of immunity.

Fire cider is a tonic of warming and healing spices, and it has historically been crafted as a remedy to promote healthful living. This very potent vinegar infusion powered by warming and wellness-supporting ingredients is an easy way to boost natural health processes, stimulate digestion, and raise your internal thermostat on cold days.
